Shark Navigator Lift-away Vacuum Cleaner

The Navigator comes with a dusting brush, two crevices tools, a wide upholstery pet tool. We took the detachable canister around to clean the hard-to-reach areas in our home, using the 24-inch crevice tool on the tops of door frames and grooves in the ceiling molding. We loved how well the dusting brush (intended for upholstered items) worked on lampshades, though the suction was a little too powerful for our silk drapes—even on the lowest setting. The pet upholstery brush worked wonders on our black upholstered kitchen chairs, where lint and pet hair is highly visible. We really appreciated the selection of accessories and were impressed with how well each of them performed. You can also clean the floor with the vacuum in detachable canister mode. This is convenient if you want to vacuum under furniture. However, you can only use the vacuum in the bare floor mode; the rotating brush will not work while the vacuum is in detachable canister mode. This is fine for vacuuming under furniture on hardwood floors, but you may not have enough suctioning power to fully clean under furniture on thicker carpets.

FAQ

Hi Madeline. I did a brief review of the nv356e at the Amazon site, compared to the 360 (which I own).
The 356e claims to have a 9.5″ vacuum path, while the 360 is 11″. The 360 is 15 or so lbs, the 356e is 14 lbs. It appears the technology and mechanical functioning of the models are nearly identical. Attachments are also similar. I own two of the 360s, which I bought from Target. I’m very happy with them

Is isnt self propelled but has really good suction so it isnt hard to push but you do have to pull it back harder than you push. It is a really good vacuum, I love mine

No No No Lol, do not use soap it will ruin the filter faster, it gets stuck in the micro fibers, I repair vacuums and Steamers and hear and see this all the time, wash filters w water only let dry 24 to 48 hrs, drying in sun is fine, completely dry before putting back in
you can use a scent tabs on the side top of the filter, also you can spray Lysol or disinfectant on the carpet {test small area to make sure no stain} and run the vacuum over it, and of course new filters, recommended every 2 years, if you have pets or kids or both every year, if cleaning service more often

This vacuum doesn’t work well on thicker carpet since the height cannot be adjusted.

I love this vacuum. I've had expensive vacuums before... and hated them from the second or third use. I've had cheapo vacuums that worked for a bit but crapped out within a few months. I have never enjoyed vacuuming. I always vacuumed as little as ~absolutely~ necessary. With the Shark Navigator I actually enjoy vacuuming! (I mean, I'm still not doing it for fun 😉 but I'm also not actively avoiding it!) I end up vacuuming the whole house anytime it's out just because it's actually not an insufferable chore with the Shark. And I'll usually end up doing something extra like the cobwebs in the corners or dusting a shelf while I'm at it because the attachments are also easy to work with. I often end up buying a tool that I think will be ~the~ solution to all of my household problems (when really the solution would be to just DO the work!) and then the tool just sits there because the problem is ~me~ not the tools but with the Shark I have been pleasantly surprised that it actually HAS helped just because it's so easy and comfortable to use.

Just like everything else I buy on amazon, I read the reviews on products until I confuse myself as to what I should buy. I am glad I settled on this vacuum, best amazon purchase I've had in a while. It can detach for portability, suction like a boss, attachments that come with are great but I also bought an additional kit, it is easy to clean and it is not super bulky. You can reach any spot in the house! What more do you need? Just make sure you empty the vacuum after use and shake out the filter and this thing will treat you right! 46 people found this helpful

I love This vaccum. It does great on any floors . The attachments and the upholstery brush is the bomb . It gets the carpet really clean and it is easy to maintain , It is not heavy . It turns the carpet and picks up so much dirt . This investment is worth it . My Kirby third generation did not pick up half the dirt this thing does. I researched all the shark vacuums and I am happy with this one , easy to swivel , but if you detach the container , the suction goes with the container , you cannot take the container off so you can vaccum under something, the pic is misleading in that , you would need a proper attachment to go under something.
